Police Make An Arrest

p.A. WELLINGTON, May 16. An arrest was made by Chief Detective Compton on the interisland steamer Hinemoa this morning as the ship was coming in to berth at Wellington. The police launch intercepted the ship in the harbour, and officers went on board and arrested William Albertus Ivan Stuck, a butcher, aged about 40 years. Stuck will appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington tomorrow morning and will be charged with murdering Day. It is understood that the police will ask for Stuck to be remanded to Christchurch.
