THE TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT
Sir,—Why does Cr E. J. Anderson consider the subject of my former letter not a matter for public discussion? Surely a matter which creates even the slightest doubt as to the management of a public concern deservesS. the fullest discussion. Will Cr Anderson give a direct answer to the following questions and let the public be the judge: Was a motorman appointed to the position of inspector? Was his appointment cancelled after it had been confirmed in writing? Was the cancellation effected after he, Cr Anderson, had been approached by an unsuccessful applicant? What was the reason for the cancellation? Perhaps, sir if Cr Anderson is unwilling to give any information, Mr Greig would oblige.—l am. etc., Foo. [When this letter was referred to Cr Anderson he stated that the matter was before the committee. He did not wish to discuss the incident with an anonymous press correspondent.—Ed. O.D.T.]
