REPLY RECEIVED

RED CROSS SOCIETY MESSAGE TO JAN MASARYK’S RELATIVES PA WELLINGTON, May 14. "Many thanks for your sympathy. Jan was sincerely endeavouring to get all nations to understand the one aim, and he underlined, on his last night, chapter 5, verse 20, of Galatians. That was the real Jan.” Those are the terms of a cablegram message received by the New Zealand Red Cross Society in reply to a message sent to the bereaved relatives of Dr Jan Masaryk after the Czech statesman had been found dying beneath the window of his home in Prague. Chapter 5, verse 20, of St. Paul’s epistle to the Galatians reads:— “Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance; emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies.”
