The appointment of Mr William Kane as inspector of clubs under the Licensing Act was notified in last night’s Gazette. Mr P. R. M. Hanna, general manager of the National Bank of New Zealand, who is at present in England, will retire on his return to New Zealand in September or October. Mr Hanna, as from the date of his retirement, will become an advisory director in New Zealand. Mr H. W. Whyte, present assistant general manager, has been appointed to succeed Mr Hanna. The following appointments were also made: Mr K. G. Butters, present senior inspector, appointed ‘assistant general manager; W. L. Wyber, manager of the Auckland branch, has- been given the additional appointment of district manager at Auckland; and Mr J. R. Weir has been appointed chief inspector.
