May 15 .. .. Auckland T.C. May 22 Wellington T.C. May 29 Canterbury -.Park i T.C. June 5. 7 .. .. Ashburton T.C. Returning to Form
By running fourth at Auckland on Saturday, Fillmore showed that he is returning to form, and he may race prominently in the Liverpool Handicap at the weekend.
Prospect at Auckland Provided he makes a good beginning, Henry of Navarre should get a share of the stake atached to the Suburban Handicap at Auckland on Saturday. Engaged at Waslidyke Rhonda Grattan, who finished second in the Lauriston Handicap at Ashburton, comes from the same stable as Loyal Nurse. She is a six-year-old by Grattan Loyal from Balcairn, and she will be raced a;t Washdyke on Saturday. Brother to Haughty
Wayfarer, the four-year-old brother to Haughty, has not yet given any indication that he will emulate the deeds of his brilliant relative, but he appears to hold more than an outside chance in the Beaconsfield Trot at Washdyke. Stable-mate of Emulous Gay Scott, one of those on the front mark in the Opihi Handicap at Washdvke, is a four-year-old by U. Scott from Milliard, and he is one of W. K. Tatterson’s team. His record so far this season is two seconds and a third in eight starts. An Improver
Sir Peterson is an improver who is likely to get on the winning list again before long. A five-year-old by Grattan Loyal, he was got from Ivy Peterson, by Rey de Oro from Lady Peterson, by Petereta from Vesta, by Lincoln Yet. He is engaged at Washdyke on Saturday. Succession of Placings Gloxiana is building up a succession of minor placings, and a win for the U. Scott mare would be well deserved. She is engaged in the Opihi Trot at Washdyke, and should race prominently from the front mark. Useful Form
One of T. H. Gunning's candidates for the Beaconsfield Trot at Washdyke will be Ada Scott, an aged mare by U. Scott from Princess Ada. She has shown useful form this season, including a win over nine furlongs at the Marlborough Racing Club’s meeting last month. Good Second
Incredible, who is engaged in the Beaconsfield Handicap at Washdyke, finished within a neck of Beckleigh, the winner of the Melrose Handicap, at Ashburton last Saturday. Judged on that form, he should race prominently again. Promising Effort Perpetua, who made a good showing in the Oamaru Juvenile Stakes, and finished fourth, is raced by Mr A. Todd. She is by Springfield Globe from Wrack’s Advice, by Wrack from Free Advice.
