JOHN L. LEWIS SERVES NOTICE WASHINGTON, May 9. Mr John L. Lewis president of the United Mineworkers, to-day gave Che hard coal operators 60 days’ notice of his intention to end the union’s contract covering 80,000 anthracite mineworkers. Mr Lewis asked for early wage conferences. His notice conforms with the Taft-Hartley Act requirement for ending an agreement.
