Annual Meeting
At the annual meeting of the North Otago Centre of the Red Cross Society on Wednesday, it was reported that 39 cases of clothing for Britain, valued at £4OO. had been collected during the year. The annual report also stated th?t three cases of shoes. 10 cases of soap. 03 cases of food, and 50 421 b tins of fat had been sent away. Mr Gerrie reported on the work done by the junior branches, and Mrs Smith-Morton. who was in the chair thanked him for his work in connection with the Junior Red Cross, Mr G. R Simkin said that £52 had been received from the Aid to Britain Committee, and this was being used for the purchase of milk products to be sent overseas. The officers elected were:—Patron. Dr A. Smith-Morton: patroness, Mrs M. F. E. Cooney: president. Mrs Smith-Morton: vice-presidents—Mesdrmes Meikle. Gardiner. Misses McDonald and McDouall: secretary-treasurer, Mr G. R. Simkin: committee—Mesdames Gibson, McDouall. Stevenson. Bvrne, Spite. Kemp, Doig, Currie Walton and Miss Carlyon.
