METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES

PRIME • MINISTER’S COMPLIMENT P.A. WELLINGTON, Apl. 14. The New Zealand meteorological services were paid a compliment by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, when speaking at the opening of the regional conference, of international meteorological organisations. “As far as our meteorological work and staffs are concerned, we are very well served in this country,” he said. “ I do not say that the weather always responds to the forecasts or fulfils them. That would be too much to expect, but the forecasts, in my opinion, are surprisingly accurate.”
