ELECTION OF OFFICERS MANY NOMINATIONS FOUR ASPIRANTS FOR PRESIDENCY Three members of Parliament, including one Cabinet Minister, are opposing the president of the New Zealand Labour Party, Mr J. Roberts, at the election of national officers, which will be held at the annual conference of the party, to begin in Dunedin on May 3. The full list of nominations closed recently. Mr Roberts is being opposed by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr Nordmeyer, who is now vice-presi-dent of the party, Mr C. Carr, Labour member of Parliament for Timaru, and Mr J. Mathison, Labour member for Avon. Mr Nordmeyer Opposed There are nine nominations for the post of vice-president, including two Cabinet Ministers and five members of Parliament. Mr Nordmeyer is being opposed by the Minister of Health. Miss Howard, and Messrs R. F. Barter, president of the Auckland Labour Representation Committeb, Mr A. C. Baxter, M.P,' for Raglan, Mr P. G. Connolly, junior Government Whip artd M.P. for Dunedin Central, Dr A. M, Finlay, M.P. for North Shore. Mr A. B. Grant, secretary of the Christchurch branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. Mr J. B. Kent, the newly-elected M.P. for Westland, and Mr J. Mathison. The national sec ve-tary-treasurer, Mr A, J. McDonald, who was appointed last year, is being opposed by Mr K. Borland, of Auckland.
No fewer than 46 nominations have come forward for the five members of the Central Executive. All five sitting members have been nominated. They are Mr H. E. Combs, Under-secretary to the Minister of Finance, and M.P. for Onslow. Mr M. Moohan. Parliamentary Undersecretary to the Prime Minister, and M.P. for Petone, Mr R. Eddy, M.L.C., Mr P. Dowse and Mr J. O. Johnson. Other Candidates

Casey, M. A. Castle, J. G. Churchill, J. H. Collins, C. G. Fennell, J. Fleming, G. J. Griffen, L. C. Hair, P. A. Hansen, J. H. Harding. R. Holland, P. N. Holloway, EL V. Horlor, J. Huggan, W. T. Johansen, H. Lees, P. C. P.' McGavin, R. A. Macintosh, S. Mather, J. Napier, J. Neale, E. B. Newton. J. Rae, H. Saunders, H. T. Savege, N. R. Seddcn, A. Wathey, N. S. Wilson, W. J. Wilson and T. J. Young. About 600 members of the Labour Party are expected to gather in Dunedin for the annual conference, which will last from May 3 to May 7. An Accommodation Committee has been set up here, and it is expected that all delegates will be accommodated.
