CIVIC WELCOME

EMINENT DOCTOR Dr Carlson and Mrs Carlson, of the United States, were welcomed to the city at an informal afternoon tea gathering in the Mayoral rooms yesterday. The Mayor, Mr Cameron, said that it was a pleasure to add the visitors to the city’s record of distinguished guests and expressed the hope that their stay in Dunedin would be as pleasant as he was sure that it would be profitable to crippled people and to the medical profession. Mr V. S. Jacobs expressed a welcome on behalf of the Crippled Children Society, Sir Charles Hercus for the Medical School, and Dr E. K. Harty for the medical profession. Dr Carlson briefly replied.
