HISTORICAL PAGEANT

“THE GOODLY FELLOWSHIP ”‘ f One of the features of the centennial celebrations of the Presbyterian Synod of Otago and Southland is the historical pageant. This has been designed by Miss Anna Kirkwood, and is entitled “ The Goodly Fellowship.” It depicts the story of the Presbyterian Church from the days of Columba, in Scotland, to the church of to-day in Otago and Southland. > Commencing with Columba and hife monks, the action moves forward through a series of picturesque tableaux portraying the growth and development of the Presbyterian Church of Otago, reaching a climax in the final scene where voice and music combine to convey the “ Goo'dly Fellowship ” of then and now. It is not often that Dunedir) audiences have the opportunity of hearing a verse speaking choir such as will take part in the pageant, while the music will recall many memories, and stimulate all who hear it. ' The producer of the pageant, whicli is to be presented in First Church, is Miss Kathleen Falconer, whose reper? tory productions are well-known to southern audiences. Mr George Wilkinson is in charge of the music, and Miss R. A. Elliffe of the wardrobe. The costuming is a special feature. The pageant will be presented on four-nights—-March 15, 16,’17, and 20. Nearly 200 people will be taking part, and it is expected that this venture in religious drama will be one of the striking features of the celebrations.
