PALMERSTON EWE FAIR

With the exception of one pen of ewe lambs, the total offering at the Palmerston Ewe Fair yesterday comprised ewes, numbering in all 2537. The quality was only fair, there being three consignments of tussock ewes included. Most of the offering comprised paddock ewes, with several late-shorn consignments, and some of them showed the effects of the adverse drv weather conditions. Quotations: Good Romney two-tooth ewes sold to 465: cull Romney two-tooth ewes. 29s 9d, best annual draft ewes, from 28s to 30s 3d; annual draft tussock ewes, from to 26s 7d; full-mouth ewes, from 15s to 20s 4d; aged descriptions, down to 7s 7d: ewe lambs. 28s.
