Cost of living in New Zealand was much lower than in England or the United States, said Mr J. W. Ridley, a Rhodes Scholar, who has returne'd to Christchurch, and who spent some time in America. Living conditions were much pleasanter in New Zealand than in England, the Continent, or even in America, he considered. “ I don’t think we should be critical of the housing shortage here.” he said. “ We are definitely no worse than anyliere else.”
