MILK
Sir,—What a pity that the Dunedin housewife’s complaint about a grub in miik had not been properly investigated first before being rushed into print. I can imagine just how she must feel as the instigator of the “ Joke of the Week.” I know what queer places the white butterfly grub is found in my own home. An apology by the complainant would have ended the business instead of the amusement her statement has causedr Her name must be known to many. Poor soul!
I delivered 160 gallons of pasteurised milk nightly over a long period and only received one complaint regarding same. Surely that speaks for itself!—l am, etc., Treated Milk Always.
Sir,—The article in Friday morning’s paper makes interesting reading. The amateur gardener generally identifies the white butterfly grub as being green in colour until after accidental cooking. Would not pasteurising make these grubs turn white? An interesting thought.—l am, etc.. Bluebottle.
