“NO HOMIES WANTED”

Sir, —I have just been reading tne Otago Daily Times dated December 3, 1947, wmch I received from England to-day. Your correspondent, “ True Kiwi," must have been bitter indeed towards the "Homies," from what I can read of the replies received in their defence. This attitude would seem to contrast sharply with that proud and glorious force of New Zeaia'naers I had the honour of knowing in the Western Desert and Italy; men who, if I may say so, were to me the very essence of sociability and goodwill. In point of fact, it was a pleasure to be with them. In conclusion, if there is anything that I can do for any Kiwi whilst in Austria, please write to me at the above address. —I am, etc., Arthur H. Tongue.
