SHIPS IN DISTRESS

RAGING NORTH ATLANTIC SEA Rec. 10 p.m. NEW YORK, Feb. 10. Two disabled , freighters, one an American, the other British, are now wallowing in a raging North Atlantic sea 800 miles east of Halifax, Nova Scotia. They are the American Liberty ship Pierre S. Dupont (4374 tons) and the British ship Clunepark (2134 tons). The Dupont, which carries a crew of 44. earlier sent an S.O.S. saying she had a cracked hull and was shipping water fast, but a later message said she was “ ridihg easy.”
