KASHMIR DISPUTE

ADJOURNMENT IN SECURITY COUNCIL INDIAN DELEGATES’ REQUEST Hec. 10.45 p.m. NEW YORK, Feb. .10. The Indian delegation, after asking the Security Council to-day for an adjournment of the Kashmir hearing, announced that it would fly to India to-morrow to consult with the Indian Government. It is expected that the Indian delegation will be absent from Lake Success for about a month. Tomorrow the Council will further debate the request for an adjournment, which was opposed to-day by Pakistan. India notified the' Council that it would nominate Czechoslovakia as a member of the proposed Commission on Kashmir. India’s chief delegate, Gopalaswami Ayyangar, in apologising for the request for an adjournment, said: “I want to assure the Council that we are not by any means withdrawing the Kashmir question from the Council.'!
