NAZI-SOVIET RELATIONS

PUBLICATION OF DOCUMENTS CONDEMNED “TREACHEROUS AND DISTORTED ” Rec. 11 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 10. The Soviet Information Bureau has described as “ treacherous ” the United States State Department’s action in publishing documents on Nazi-Soviet relauons between 1939 and 1941. The bureau added that the British and French Foreign Offices had collaborated with the United States in the publication, the true purpose of which was “to present a distorted picture of the events, heap lies on the Soviet Union, slander it, and undermine its international influence as a staunch fighter against aggressive anti-democratic forces.” The bureau said the State Department excluded material referring to the Munich period. The American. British and French Governments had falsified the history and the Soviet Government felt entitled to make public secret documents captured by Soviet troops concerning relations between Hitler’s Germany and the other three Governments which the latter had concealed from public opinion. A Reuter message from Moscow says the Soviet Information Bureau’s 3000word statement is entitled: "The falsifiers of history and historical notes.” It also says: “ The golden rain of American dollars financed Hitler’s building of a war machine.” and also that “the ruling classes of Britain and France helped to cause the war by appeasing Hitler.”
