GIRL INJURED

AMUSEMENT PARK MISHAP A fortunate escape was experienced by eight patrons of the Amusement Park “ chair-o-plane ” at the Caledonian Ground Fun Fair last night. As a result of the mishap to the machine, Joyce Moore, aged 18 years, who lives in Greenhill avenue, was admitted to hospital suffering from head injuries. The “ chair-o-plane ” was slowing down when the centre pole, which is about four inches in diameter, snapped at a point lift from the ground. The eight passengers were thrown out, but the speed of the machine was not sufficient to cause a major accident.

Inquiries were made by the police last night and the device will be examined by the inspector of machinery.
