BIBLE PROPHESY FORETELLS FAILURE OF ALL PEACE PLANS. Jesus Christ gave man a rule that would cure all social and economic evils and put an end to war. “ Whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, do ye. even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." (Matt. 7:12). All the combined wisdom of the statesmen essembled at all the peace conferences just cannot frame any plan that will excel this simple formula for peace and goodwill among men. It matters not what plan for world peace is drawn up by uninspired man, IT WILL FAIL.

Two devastating wars within a generation leave tne world still in a state of unbelief as to the providence of God, His control of human affairs and the fact that HE HAS SENT these great and terrible wars upon the world BECAUSE OF SIN AND WICKEDNESS. He has "given them blood to drink," but ‘‘they repent not to give Him glory.” Yea, they defy Him. They say, as did Babal of old “ Let us, build us a city and a tower." or a league of nations, and “ Let us see to' it that it does not happen again, we will not permit war.” BUT! “ The God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified.” (Dan. 6:23). Divine prophesy pictures an entirely different world to the one visualised by the Utopian dreamers, who imagine a world made near perfect by the w.ork of science and, human political contrivances while the Word of God reveals a wicked 'world BROUGHT TO UTTER DESOLATION by the fury of its own wickedness, THEN PURIFIED, by divine judgments, and STRIPPED OF ALL HUMAN AUTHORITY AND POWER, and submitting to divine authority only “ when God’s judgments are in the earth.” (Isa. 26:9,10). IS THERE NO HOPE? There is no hope for world peace and security so long as sinful man rules the world. The scripture injunction is. " Cease from man whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of" IT REQUIRES THE PRESENCE OF THE PRINCE OF PEACE (Christ) and the visible operation of the hand of God in the affairs of man BEFORE the world is brought to a permanent state of peace. The prophet Zephaniah tells us (3:8-9) that It is God’s determination to gather the nations and pour upon them' His indignation and fierce anger. THEN the curse of Babel will be removed and God Will “TURN TO THE PEOPLE A PURE LANGUAGE that they may all call upon the Name of the Lord, to SERVE HIM WITH ONE CONSENT." To place one’s hopes in the present order of 'things is to live in a house built upon sand; it is to indulge in a, vain and delusive hope which just cannot be realised. Let us, like faithful Abraham of old, view the present world order IN ITS TRUE LIGHT, AS A PASSING. PERISHING HUMAN SYSTEM. Let us place our hopes in THAT ETERNAL ORDER soon to dawn upon the earth; that order ” which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God,” for “ The lofty looks of man shall be humbled and the haughtiness of men shall be- bowed down, and the Lord Jesus shall be exalted in that day." (Isa. 2:11; Psalm 25:9).
