Mr Ralph Hogg, first assistant at Kongotai College, has been appointed liaison officer to the Victoria University College Council, succeeding Mr A H. Thom, who has been appointed inspector of postprimary schools. Regret at the death of Mr J. ‘McG. Wilkie was expressed by members of the Oingo Acclimatisation Society at the monthly meeting of the council last right. Mr Wilkie served for a number of years on the council. Mr E. E. F. Young was appointed to fill the vacancy.

The Presbyterian General Assembly yesterday appointed the Rev. J. Baird as its representative at the meeting of the World Council of Churches at Amsterdam in 1948. with the Rev. A. WhiteiaW as an alternative delegate. The assembly also appointed Mr and Mrs Baird, together with Mr and Mrs Whitelaw, as its delegates to the conference of the Alliance of Reformed Churches in Geneva.
