Mrs S. M. Satterthwaite, of Cliffs road, has returned from Annat, Canterbury, where she has been visiting her daughter, Mrs M. Macdonald.
Mrs F. Dunnage, of Kent, England, is the guest of her sister, Mrs T. B. Bowker, of Heriot Row.
Mrs M. E. Holland, of City road, and Miss Elizabeth Williams, of Oamaru, have returned from a visit to Christchurch. Mrs R. D. McKechnie, of Dalmore. entertained friends at her home on Wednesday night in honour of Miss Mabel Bewley, whose marriage to Mr Godfrey D'Auvergne will take place next month. A party of 20 women under the auspices of the Mid-Canterbury Federation of Women's Institutes, is at present spending a five days’ holiday in Queenstown. The party, which is in charge of Mrs M. Constable, organiser and hostess, is as follows:—Mesdames A. Gadd, O. Syme, C. Corbett, J. McElhinney, E. Church, A. A. Clucas, D. Wilson, A. Cameron, T. H. Milner, W. B. Clarke, H Whiting. M. Farrell W. Livingston, E. Mehrtens, H. Chappell, Misses Marshall, S. Murdoch and M. Taylor.
