In 1942 the Germans began using a French television transmitter at Eiffel Tower for propaganda pictures. At that time the normal range of television transmission was estimated at 40 to 50 miles. The R.A.F., with special receivers, established a watching post and began to “ look in ” at a range of 108 miles. For two years they were able to get ti a firstclass check of the results of Allied raids by seeing films of the bomb damage. York Aircraft to Visit Dominion A York aircraft of the R.A.F. Transport Command is due to arrive at Ohakea on October 11 from Melbourne on a training flight from England. It will take off for Sydney on October 16. After they were married at the London Registry Office, in the absence of the bride’s father, who could not afford to miss a day’s pay, the bridegroom, who has an income of £82,060 a year, gave his bride £2OOO “to do with as she wishes.” They will fly to Pakistan shortly, where the Prince has to rejoin his father’s army.
