MAX SCMELING STAGING A COMEBACK
FRANKFURT, Sept. 28. The former world heavy-weight boxing champion, Max Schmeling, beat Werner Vollmer in the seventh round of a 10-round bout when the referee stopped the fight. Vollmer had previously won 14 of his 15 professional bouts by knock-outs. Schmeling, who is attempting to stage a comeback, said: “I hope I can again go to the United States.”
