VON NIDA IN LEAD

PENFOLD GOLF TOURNAMENT Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 4. The Australian, Von Nida, with a brilliant round of 65, took the lead in the Penfold golf tournament at Stoke Poges. Von Nida came home in 30, equalling the record for the homeward stretch. He said it was the best round he had ever played. The leading scores at the end of the second round were:—Von Nida 65 —133 S. King 69—134, C. Ward 66 135, Hargreaves 72—136, Dai Rees 65 —136, Ayton 71—138, A- Padhghan 67 —138! Faulkiner 69—139 _ Henry Cotton will captain the team of professional golfers to play the United States for the Ryder Cup in the United States in November. Adams, Daly, Horne, Rees, and Ward are named as definite members of the team. The remaining three will be chosen next week.
