LORNEVILLE SALE

PRICES FIRM GENERALLY P.A. INVERCARGILL, Sept. 2. All classes were well represented at Lorneville. A truck of Black Polled cattle, sold on behalf of the estate of W. D. Good-quality heavy-weight wethers made from 65s to 68s, good-quality mediumweights 60s to 6s, light-weights 50s to 545, small and unfinished 39s to 445. Good-quality butchers’ ewes made from 43s to 50s 9d, medium sorts 44s to 475, and unfinished 38s to 40s.' A full yarding of fat cattle was made up of all classes. The bulk of the entry was of good quality. Bidding was keen and prices were good, although they did not reach the extreme proportions of the previous week. Prime heavy-weight bullocks made from £27 to £2B 15s. good-quality medium-weights £22 10s to £25, handy-weights to £22, light-weight sorts £l6 to £lB. Good-quality cows made to £22. prime quality £lB 10s to £2O, medium sorts £ls 10s to £l6 10s, aged and unfinished sorts from £l2 to £l3 10s.
