PRIME STOCK VALUES FIRM Special to the Daily Times OAMARU, Sept. 2. Prices for prime fat cattle at to-day's Waiareka sale remained firm on last week’s rates, while other sorts dropped from 20s to 25s a head. Prime fat sheep prices were unaltered, but lighter sorts dropped Is to Is 6d a head Prices for fat cattle were as follows: — Bullocks: Extra prime £2B 10s to £33 10s, prime £24 to £27, medium £lB to £22, light £l6 to £l7 10s. Heifers: Prime £ll to £l4. Cows: Extra prime £l7, prime £l4 15s to £l6 ss, light £5 to £7 10s. Dairy Cattle.—Cows: Prime £l6 10s, medium £9 to £ll 15s, aged £3 to £6. Spring heifers, £6 10s to £8 10s. Fat Sheep.—Wethers: Extra prime 67s Od to 70s, prime to 62s 6d, medium 47s to 535, light 44s 6d to 46s 6d. Ewes: Prime made 59s 6d, medium 38s 6<r to 41s. Maiden ewes, 41s to 535, and shorn wethers 26s 6d to 29s 6d. Store Sheep.—A pen of extra good Southland ewe hoggets made 465. Hoggets 33s to 38s. Pigs, 35s to 51s 6d.
