Mr C. R. Spackman will leave for Auckland this morning to act as adjudicator of violin and vocal sections in the Auckland Competitions festival. Miss Bertha Rawlinson will leave for Wellington to-day to judge the vocal music section of the Wellington Competition Society’s festival. Mr T. G. Hislop, of Wellington College, has been elected the first life member of the New Zealand Universities’ Rugby Football Council. He began his association with the council as secretary in 1926, was selector for many years, and also filled the position of chairman of the council many times. He retired from the council this year because of pressure of business.
