GOOD NOMINATIONS

Otago Hunt Club’s Meeting FINE RESPONSE - BY OWNERS The new local season should be opened under most successful circumstances on September 6, when the Otago Hunt Club will hold its annual race meeting at Wingatui. The response by owners and trainers by way of nominations was a very pleasing one and without exception the fields filled well. Among the horses engaged are several who were raced at the Grand National meeting, including winners in Prize Ring, Page’s Raid, and Lord Dundonald, and their presence will add considerably to the'interest in the meeting. The club’s card caters for all sections of the race-going public as it contains a hurdle race, two steeplechases, two trotting events, and three races on the fiat. The handicaps will be declared on Monday and the acceptances are due on Friday of next week, but at the moment no risk is* being taken in saying that the meeting will be a sporting and financial success.
