NOT PRACTICABLE
AIRWAYS CONNECTION PASSENGERS ON EXPRESS Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. The National Airways Corporation hoped that the inauguration of a feeder service from Invercargill which would connect with the 11.5 a.m. departure from Dunedin for the north would not be long delayed, stated the Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr Jones, in a written reply in the House of Representatives to-day to a question by Mr J. R. Hanan (Oppn., Invercargill), Mr T. L. Macdonald (Oppn., Wallace), and'Mr G. R. Herron (Oppn., Awarua). They had asked the Minister whether, he would, pending the establishment of a feeder service between Invercargill and Dunedin, endeavour to ensure that a tri-weekly service from Dunedin at 11.5 a.m. would be available to passengers on the express from the south. The Minister said the matter had been taken up with the corporation but as the delav in the time of departure from Dunedin would prejudice service connections elsewhere in New Zealand and not ensure the arrival of this aircraft in daylight hours, it was not practicable to make the alteration suggested.
