ARBOR DAY

DUNEDIN OBSERVANCE ARRANGEMENTS FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN Arbor Day will be observed in Dunedin to-day. The chairman of the Reserves Committee of the City Council, Cr Jolly, told the council at its meeting last night that arrangements had been made for primary school children to plant trees at Mount Cargill. He said that trees had been planted there for the past two years and were doing well. Cr Jolly added that the pupils at the secondary schools in Dunedin would plant trees around their own schools. He invited the councillors to make the, trip to Mount Cargill to give encouragement to the school children.
