OBITUARY
MR C. L. SHEA The death occurred at Mosgiel last week of Mr C. L. Shea, who was wellknown, by a wide circle of friends in the Central Otago and Taieri districts. Mr Shea was born in 1891 at Hobart, Tasmania, and came to the pominion prior to the First World War. He enlisted for service at an early age and saw active service in France, where he was badly gassed and invalided home. After his discharge from the army, he made several return trips to Australia but later settled in the Dominion where he married Miss Amy McLeod, a member of a well-known family of the Taieri district. During the years following his marriage he spent much of his time in Central Otago but was latterly on the staff of the New Zealand Railways, Hillside, where he served right up to the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. As a mark of respect, flags were flown at half mast on Friday at the railway station and
