“Prodigal Son” Returning Home

Rec. 10 p.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 18. Mr lan Coster, who describes himself as a “modern prodigal son.” has arrived in Sydney by Qantas Lancastrian from England, and will fly on to visit his mother, aged 78, in Hamilton, New Zealand. He left her 20 years ago to see Europe, promising to be back within a year, but the nearest he got was in 1942, when he served with the marines in South-east Asia. He writes a column for the London Daily Mail, from which paper he has obtained a month’s leave for the visit, though he is still continuing to write his column.
