SPECIAL RECEPTION

DEBUTANTES’ PRESENTATION GOVERNMENT HOUSE INTIMATION P.A. WELLINGTON, Aug. 5. The Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, and Lady Freyberg, have decided to hold at Government House on Wednesday, September 24, a special evening reception for the presentation of debutantes. In the past a limited number of debutantes has been presented at a ball at Government House, but during recent years the number of parents making application for presentation of their daughters has increased so much that it is no longer possible to hold the presentation in conjunction with the ball, as accommodation at Government House is not sufficient for both fuctions at once. Applications for presentation in September must be received by the aide-de-camp in waiting by August 15.
