SELECTION OF PLAYERS PRACTICE ARRANGEMENTS The Otago selectors—Messrs B. Collie, V. G. Cavanagh, jun., and W. Duncan —have announced the names of the following players for practice for the first match in defence of the Ranfurly Shield against North Auckland at Carisbrook on Saturday:— R. Orr (Training College), G. J. Moore (University A), J. M. Tanner (University A), I. J. Botting (University A), R. R. Elvidge (University A), I. A.Colquhoun (Training College). R. F. Waldron (Kaikorai), L. W. Woodhouse. (Southern). A.' L. Mclndoe (Pirates), P. Johnstone (Taieri), A. Foster (University A), K. Skinner (Pirates), D. Hamilton (West Otago), L. Harvey (Vincent), C. Willocks (South Otago), J. McNab (South Otago), A. E. Heilyer (Zingari-Rich-mond), K; J. O’Connor (University A), T. Wallace (Southern). \ J. C. Kearney (Maniototo) may be included later in the week. The 20 players chosen are identical with those who travelled to Invercargill for the shield match on Saturday. Kearney was not available for that game owing to an injury received in the match between Central Otago and the Otago Sub-unions. The team will practise at Carisbrook at 4.30 p.m. t'o-day and on Thursday.
