POLITICS IN NEW INDIA EARLY INDICATIONS OF FRAGMENTATION LONDON, Aug. 3. There have been indications recently of political- fragmentation which is likely to characterise Indian politics, says'the New Delhi correspondent of The Times. Now that independence has virtually been achieved, Sarat Chandra Bcse. Iras' announced the creation of a Socialist Republican Party with the object of setting up Socialist republics based on linguistic groups and the establishment of a Union of Indian Socialist Republics. Jain Vakash Narain, secretary of the Indian Socialist Party, reiterated that if Congress does not adopt Socialist policies the Socialist Party will have to function independently of Congress. ' ! All recent reports from the south of India indicate that the Indian Communist Party is making steady progress. Political parties are less likely to evolve in Pakistan because real power is so overwhelmingly in Mr Jinnah's hands.
