HONOURS FAIRLY EVEN

University A was on the attack for the greater part of the first half in the game against Training College, which was played at Tonga Park, and the Light Blues were leading by two goals at the interval. Excellent work on the part of the College goal-keeper, A. S. Jones, kept the opposition's score down. College took the offensive in the second spell, however, and not long before the close of the game their forwards had evened the score. R. Young, the Training College centre-for-ward, finished off a nice movement initiated by V. McArley, and soon afterwards B. Sutcliffe scored an excellent goal after he had tricked the full-back, * The play then swung in Varsity’s favour, and they had gone into the lead by two goals when the final whistle blew. The scorers for Varsity were G. Hanley (2) and R. Pilling (2).
