POOR STANDARD OF PLAY HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS IN FORM Perfect weather conditions prevailed on Saturday, when another series of games of the Otago Football Association’s competition was played. The main attraction was the second meeting between Northern and Mosgiel. Northern was victorious in the first round by, four clear goals. The game was fast and even, but the standard of football by the two top teams was very poor. Mosgiel, without those of its regular side, was disorganised, and Northern appeared to have the game well in hand during the early exchanges, but Martin, in goal, and the spoiling tactics of the Mosgiel halves held the Northern forwards in check. High School Old Boys’ front line were in good form when visiting Green Island, an excellent game resulting in a win for Old Boys. Mornington and Technical Old Boys'were well matched, but Maori Hill trounced Caversham, the remaining games being evenly contested. The senior results were as follows: — High School Old Boys 6, Green Island 4. Northern A I, Mosgiel 1. University 5, Roslyn-Wakari 2. Maori Hill 8, Caversham nil. Technical Old Boys 4, Mornington 3. Southern 4, Northern B 1.
