SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION
WATERSIDERS’ BALL A high standard of fancy dress costume and good organisation generally marked the watersiders’ ball at Port Chalmers on Saturday as one of the most successful functions held in the town for some time. The Watersiders’ Hall was filled to capacity, and between 80 and 100 couples took part in the grand march. The president of the Watersiders’ Union. Mr N. Crichton, was the M.C. Mr and Mrs A. J. Brown and Sergeant -- J. O’Shea judged the fancy dresses, the prizes being awarded to Mrs A. Ives and Mr J. Wheeler.
