ALL BLACK FORM

BELITTLED BY CRITICS DISADVANTAGE OF LAST MATCH Rec. 1 a.m. SYDNEY, June 11. “After the All Blacks were defeated last Saturday and their moderate showing yesterday against practically a second grade New South Wales fifteen playing together for the first time, critics now, are saying that the 1947 visitors do not compare with their predecessors,” writes E. W. Kann in the Sydney Sun. “The All Blacks, however, fielded their second-string players who had not had a game for more than three weeks, and conditions were entirely opposed to good football. “In addition : to the boisterous weather and dust,” said Kann, “there was no tension about the contest to • bring out the best in the players. It was a mistake to stage the game. Meanwhile, those who anticipate another All Black defeat in the Brisbane test are likely to receive a shock.”
