Mrs J. Cox. of Playfair street, is visiting Christchurch. The Dunedin Hospital Guild will resume its winter activities next Thursday. Mr and Mrs W. E. Johnston, of Whangarei, are visiting Dunedin. Mr and Mrs J. Kidson, of Auckland, are visiting Dunedin. Mrs H. S. Baker, of Invercargill, has returned south after visiting Dunedin. Mrs J. Rose, of Masterton, is the guest of Mrs A. G. Hassell, of Roslyn. Miss Valda McCracken left for Invercargill yesterday, and will be the guest soloist at the Male Choir concert to.night. The speaker at the Dunedi’n Travel Club meeting to-morrow will be Mr* Sydney Jacobs, of London, and the hostesses Mrs S. M. Satterthwaite and Mrs 11. T. Speight. The opening “ at home ’’ of the Archerfield Old Girls’ Association was held at the Savoy last Thursday evening, members being welcomed by Mrs Williamson in the absence of the president. Miss Beryl Service. Following this, they were entertained by a play reading. The following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mrs H. J. Ryburn; vicepresident, Miss Barbara Austin; secretary, Miss Joan Tennent; treasurer. Miss Lindsay Henderson: committee—Misses Betty Johnston, Frances Adams, Ann Stubbs, Beryl Service, Sheila Scobie .(combined old girls’ representative), Miss Shona Hogan; old girls’ news editors, Miss Joy Anderson and Mrs R. Mitchell.
