“THE HASTY HEART”
OPENING TO-MORROW NIGHT
His Majesty’s Theatre will house something right off the beaten track in stage fare from to-morrow night, when J. C. Williamson Theatres, Ltd., will present their New Comedy Company in the unusual play, “ The Hasty Heart.” With its locale in Burma, and its characters playing most of the time in pyjamas, or hospital blues, the audience is Immediately transported into a new world, and it is a faithful reproduction of the actual setting of a jungle field hospital. The scene has been brought in its entirety from Australia, where in turn it was constructed from exact plans of the New York setting. It was in New York that “ The Hasty Heart ” was first produced, and it met with instant success there, with the same result in England and Australia. The players are John Wood, Peter French, Reginald Newson, Sidney Connabere, Stephen Staughton, Eddie Edwards, Doug. Starke, and Gwenda Wilson. and J. C. Williamsons have also brought the coloured actor, Joe Thomal (last seen here in " White Cargo ”) to give the right touch, in a quietly effective nerformance. to the character of “ Blossom ” the Basuto native. .
