annual meeting of club The fortieth annual meeting of the St. Kilda Harrier and A.A. Club held last Thursday was presided over by Mr C. A. Pope and there was a large attendance ° f Moving e the adoption of the annual renort the chairman said that the season iust concluded had been most successful and he referred to the excellent performances of J. Browett, J. Cunningham, D. Fairweather, and C. Simpson at the recent Otago junior championships. It was gratifying that the club was in a sound financial position. In recognition of his service to the club the retiring president. Mr C. A. Pope, was elected a life member. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—Patron. Mr F. Jones, M.P.; patroness, Mrs T. E. Colombus; president, Mr C. Bissland; vice-presidents, Messis H J. Tyrle and P. G. Connolly, M.P.; club captain, Mr J. Napier: deputy captains, Messrs W. E. Mackintosh and D. Fairweather: delegate to Otago Centre, Mr P. C. Walker; starter, Mr K. Jakeway; handicapper, Mr A. R. Beatson; timekeepers —Messrs T. R. Beatson, L. McKay and H. J. Tyrle; judges—Messrs C. A. Pope, A. E. Churchill, J. McTaggart, I. E Still, and E. McGarry; trainer, Mr H. J. Tyrle; colts’ coach, Mr W. E. Mackintosh: honorary auditor, Mr G. Ross; secretary, Mr K. Jakeway; treasurer Mr L. Rayner; track captain, Mr K. O’Connell; reporting secretary, Mr D. Fairweather; committee Messrs J. Browett. G. Hall, R. Lamb, A. W. Miles and R. Smith. It was decided to open the season on April 12.
