Mrs H. Thomas and Miss Joyce Thomas, who have been staying with Mrs T. K. S. Sidey, will return to-day to Wellington.

Mrs W. J. Mathers, who has been visiting relatives in Perth, Western Australia, is expected to return to Dunedin at the end of next week.

The Mornington Mothers’ Club-Plunket Society recently held a successful social evening, having a record attendance of 75. Mrs Davenport, who presided, welcomed those present. The speaker was Sister E. Carter, who gave an .interesting talk on " Common Ailments of Childhood.” Items were given by Mesdames Wallis and Fyfe.

At the annual general meeting of the Columba Old Girls’ Association, heid at the college recently, the following officebearers were elected: President, Mrs R. H. Henderson; vice-presidents, Mesdames A." Laing and L. M. Satterthwaite; secretary. Miss M. Grey; social secretary. Miss M Mcßae; committee—Mrs Gresham and Misses P. McDougall, L. Warded, D. Bain, E. Laurenson, A. Smith, M. Cook. On Saturday last the Caversham Croquet Club entertained the honorary members. An enjoyable afternoon was spent on the lawns and afternoon tea was served in the pavilion. Mrs R. D. Archer welcomed all members and presented the honorary members with floral sprays. She then called on Lady Sidey to unveil the new electric clock, which had been installed to commemorate the twenty-first anniversary of the club’s foundation. The annual meeting of the Otago High School Ex-eirls’ Association was heid in the Otago Women’s Club on Monday last. Several letters of appreciation were read from ex-pupils now living in Britain, who had received food parcels from the association. The president, Miss A. M. Aitken, welcomed many new members, and during the evening musical items were given by Misses C. Clarke and B. Naylor. Office-bearers for 1947 are as follows: Patron. Miss M. S.
