SOUTHERN SUB-ASSOCIATION The following is the result of the final of the Southern Sub-association competition. for the Browne Cup between the Maheno and Kakanui Clubs, played for the first time since the outbreak of the war. Maheno names first:— Men’s Singles.—J. Clemens beat D. Meldrum 9—4, N. Clemens beat Ludemann 9—7. H. A. Muldrew beat J. Brown 9—6, J. Walton beat J.. Anderson 9—3. Women’s Singles.—Mrs J. Clemens lost to Miss J. McGregor 3—7, Miss J. Milne beat Mrs Hansen 7—5, Miss Burrow beat Miss Tyson 7—2, Mrs D. Strain beat Mrs Ross 7—4. Men’s Doubles.—J. and N. Clemens beat D. Meldrum and Ludemann 9—5, H. A. Muldrew and J. Walton beat J. Brown and J. Anderson 9—4. Women’s Doubles.—Mrs Clemens and Miss J. Milne lost to Miss J. McGregor and Mrs Hanser. 2—7, Miss Burrow and Mrs D. Strain beat Miss J. Tyson and Mrs Ross 7—2. Mixed Doubles.—Mr and Mrs J. Clemens lost to D. Meldrum and Miss Jr McGregor 5—7, N. Clemens and Miss J. Milne beat Ludemann and Mrs Hansen 7—o, H. A. Muldrew and Miss Burrow beat J. Brown and Mrs Ross 7—6, J. Walton and Mrs D. Strain beat J. Anderson and Miss J. Tyson 7—5. Totals.—Maheno 13 sets, Kakanui 3 sets.
