RUGBY REFEREES

ANNUAL REPORT In the annual report of the North Otago Rugby Referees’ Association, the executive extends congratulations to the active referees on the manner in which all games were controlled during the past season. Fortnightly meetings were well attended, but it was regretted that club captains and players did not avail themselves of the opportunity to attend and hear discussions on the rules. The conference of South Canterbury, Ashburton, Waimate, and North Otago referees proved beneficial to all concerned, and another conference would be held in Ashburton before the Rugby season is commenced'. Five new members were elected, jbut Messrs F. Holz and M. F. Woodward both left for Wellington. The finances were in a healthy position, with favourable balances in all the funds. During the season all referees were issued with new equipment, including monograms. Clubs were assured that the standard of refereeing would be maintained during the coming season.
