The contributions of food coupons in the fourty-seventh week of the New Zealand Famine Emergency Committee’s campaign, to make more food Available for Britain were the best for three months, totalling 3933 butter coupons and 141,785 meat coupons. The total gifts of coupons for the 47 weeks are 332,456 butter and 8.322,443 meat. The first place last week was gained by Oamaru with gifts averaging nearly two coupons for each household. Gisborne was second and Nelson third. The biggest individual contribution came from Christchurch where schools are strongly supporting the drive.
