AL SIRAT'S EASY WIN Sunniray, Double Shuffle, Enforce, and Pink Maid got out slowly in the Trial Stakes, and the first to show out were Robot, Kinlass, Lady Coolbane, Handle, and Pink Socks. Running past the four-Xurlong post the order was Kinlass, Lady Coolbane, Smock, Robot, Hot Foot, and Pacific Star. Kinlass led into the straight from Lady Coolbane, Smock, Robot, Pacific Star, and Paper Raid. A furlong from home Lady Coolbane hit the front from Kinlass, and Paper Raid got a slant on the rails. Lady Coolbane went on to win by two lengths from Kinlass, with Paper Raid a neck away. Then came Robot, Pacific Stai, Pink Socks, Enforce, and Smock. Waikaura Trot Cavalier, Expensive, and Captain Sandy lost ground at the start, and Baadin showed the way to Active Service, Blonde Sailor, Scottish Girl, Colin Waters, and Swaledale. There was no alteration running through the straight and into the back, except that Swaledale showed speed to run up into fourth place handy to the leaders. Across the bottom bend Special Effort put in a fast run. and turning for home the order was Colin Waters, Special Effort. Baadin. Swaledale, Active Service, Ikawai, and Captain Sandy When well into the straight, Swaledale was taken out wide to get a run at the leaders, and he won well from Special Effort, with Colin Waters in third place and then Captain Sandy. Ikawai. Expensive. and Active Service. High-weight Handicap Drumsill and Petty Cash were slow to nv'/ve at the start of the High-weight Han/jeap, and Glance took up the running ■from Pedantic, Tweedside, Beau Ideal. Desert Trek, and'Sedgemere. Passing the fix, Drumsill and Petty Cash were moving up. and the order with four furlongs to go was Drumsill, Glance, Petty Cash. Tweedside. Pedantic, Beau Ideal, and Sedgemere. Pedantic showed the way into the straight to Beau Ideal Drumsill, and Petty Cash, with Sedgemere coming fast. In a good race home, Beau Ideal finished best to beat Pedantic by a neck, with Petty Cash a head away, followed by Sedgemdre, Glance. Tweedside, and Desert Trek.
