Canadians in the eyes of the world at present are British subjects, and the Act first establishes distinctive Canadian citizenship. Canadian passports in future will be stamped “Canadian citizen.” but Canadian travellers will continue to enjoy benefits accruing to British subjects. particularly within the British Empire.
