STRAND THEATRE

An adventure drama, “ Strange Conquest,” with Jane Wyatt and Lowell Gilmore in the principal roles, has pride of place in to-morrow’s new programme at the Strand Theatre. Miss Wyatt has the role of Dr Mary Palmer, a feminine biologist attached to a jungle expedition. Heading the group of scientists seeking the remedy for a tropical plague is Dr Paul Harris, enacted by Lowell Gilmore. The motive for the plot is the professional rivalry between Harris and a Dr Sommers. Peter Cookson has the latter role. Many astounding adventures are experienced before a romantic and surprising climax is reached. “Swamp Fire,” starring Johnny “Tarzan” Weissmuller and Shirley Grey, is the supporting picture.
